I love to make things that will be used. Not engineered for perfect function, but made to be used often and well loved for its simple utility. I yearn for my work to become a part of someone's life. There is an intimacy known by everyday objects. Maybe that mug will be used on slow Saturday mornings for coffee and a favorite word puzzle. That bowl will hold the soup for a loved one who is under the weather. That vase will hold flowers picked from a field of spring blooms. The rare and beautiful water woven through desert rocks. The enveloping awe of a thunderstorm overhead. The warmth of sunshine on a winter day. These are some of the things that inspire me.
